How many of you have had a big jump in square footage and seemed a little overwhelmed with the process? Well, not only did my husband and I just do this but we did it with a new born (literally 1 1/2 months old) under foot. We were blessed to find the home of our dreams quickly after having sold ours. We moved from a 1355 sq ft home to a 2947 square foot home which as you can imagine is a big change. The great part is we get to learn these things together and set up our home together. My husband although I think he looks at me sideways when I start talking organization…because lets face it I can go overboard talking about it lol…he appreciates the order it brings to our lives. One of my very first organizational projects was in the kitchen. My mom and dad, bless their hearts, came over to help us get settled…so me and mom spent the first two days washing all the dishes and putting them up. I was determined to set it up the way I wanted it from the start. granted I quickly learned that there are just some things you can’t do when you have a newborn and a new house AND you must eat and sleep and all that in between lol. HOWEVER, I was able to get my very first project completed and that is my everyday glasses, plates and bowls cabinet completed. After posting this photo many people thought it was a picture I had found on pinterest as inspiration, my mother included!!!! To an organizer you know that was one of the highest compliments anyone could ever give me! So long story a little shorter…here is the photo of the cabinet in all its glory.

Ultimately all I did was get two expander racks from Walmart. I had looked at Bed Bath & Beyond but they were too expensive (even with the coupon) and I didn’t want to spend extra unnecessarily. These expanders were perfect in that one side stood slightly higher than the other…but you couldn’t tell because of the way my cabinets sits. Now this was taken back in September but I can honestly say the cabinet pretty much looks the same. Occasionally, a bowl will get put on the wrong shelf, but if that is all I have to deal with…I say we have SUCCESS!!!!
